CIVL 2050 - Fluid Mechanics for Civil and Environmental Engineering


Hydrostatics; Pressure Measurement; Fluid Properties; Application of Control Volume Analysis to Conservation of Mass, Energy and Momentum Principles; Bernoulli Equation for Ideal Flow; Dimensional Analysis; Pipe Flow and Pipe Networks; Pump Performance; Pipes in Pipelines.  A laboratory component will illustrate the topics studied. 
 

Prerequisite: ENGR 1100  and (PHYS 1100  or PHYS 1110  or PHYS 1150 )
