The dual major in Business Analytics (BSAN) and Computer Science (CSCI), or “Computational Business Analytics,” combines the power of data-driven decision-making with the technical expertise of computer science, creating a versatile and in-demand skill set. This interdisciplinary program prepares students to design, build, and analyze complex data systems while leveraging analytics to solve real-world business challenges in industries such as technology, finance, healthcare, and e-commerce.

The BSAN curriculum focuses on data modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization, providing students with the ability to interpret and communicate actionable insights from large datasets. The Computer Science curriculum complements this with foundational and advanced topics, including algorithms, software engineering, databases, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, enabling students to develop and optimize technological solutions for analytics-driven initiatives.

Students gain hands-on experience through internships, research opportunities, and capstone projects that integrate programming, data analytics, and business strategy. The program emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork, and communication, ensuring that graduates can effectively bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders. Students also explore cutting-edge areas such as cloud computing, big data technologies, and predictive modeling, preparing them to lead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Graduates of the BSAN and CSCI dual major are highly sought after for roles such as data scientist, business intelligence developer, software engineer, and product manager. With their combined expertise in computer science and business analytics, they are uniquely equipped to develop innovative technologies, optimize processes, and drive strategic decision-making. This program positions students at the forefront of the intersection between technology and business in today’s data-driven economy.
