The dual major program in Business & Management (BGMT) and Design, Innovation, and Society (DSIS) is an interdisciplinary program designed for students who aspire to become leaders at the intersection of business strategy, design thinking, and societal impact. This innovative dual degree offers a comprehensive foundation in both business principles and design methodologies, empowering graduates to drive creative solutions and transformative change within organizations and communities. Students in this program will gain a deep understanding of business operations, finance, marketing, and leadership, alongside expertise in design thinking, innovation processes, and the societal implications of technological and organizational change. The dual major fosters a unique skill set that blends analytical decision-making with creative problem-solving, positioning graduates to excel in industries ranging from product development and entrepreneurship to social impact and technology innovation.

The curriculum combines rigorous coursework, hands-on projects, and collaborative learning opportunities that encourage students to think critically about how business practices can be reshaped through design and innovation to address complex global challenges. Graduates will be equipped to lead cross-disciplinary teams, design human-centered solutions, and apply strategic thinking to real-world problems across a variety of sectors.

This dual major is fulfilled by completing the curricular requirements of both the BGMT and the DSIS major. It consists of core classes in BGMT and DSIS. The students’ Science Core is fulfilled through the curriculum of the BGMT major, and students have flexibility in their curriculum with one free elective for deepening their learning in an area of their own choosing. Students are required to complete an internship as a part of their BGMT curriculum.
