ECSE 4180 - Industrial Power System Design Industrial power system design considerations: planning (safety, reliability, simplicity, maintenance, flexibility, cost), voltages (control, selection, effects of variation), protection (devices, limitations, requirements, coordination, testing), fault calculations, grounding (static and lightning protection, earth connections), power factor control and effects, switching and voltage transformation, instruments and meters, cable construction and installation, busways.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: ECSE 4110 or equivalent or permission of instructor.
