ERTH 1125 - Introduction to Environmental Science Previous Course Number IENV 2100
This course introduces students to the scientific principles, concepts and methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, as well as to identify and analyze environmental problems and think critically about solutions for addressing them. Topics covered will include ecosystems, water quality, soil sustainability, air quality and climate. Case studies and projects will emphasize the investigation of local environmental problems and solutions. Labs include exposure to field equipment, techniques and analysis of data. This course is intended for first- and second-year students and includes a weekend field trip.
