ECSE 4370 - Fundamentals of Optoelectronics Technology The nature of optics, physics, and operation principles of optoelectronic devices and systems for communication, display, lighting, and computing. Topics include optics fundamentals, optical cavity, waveguides and fibers, light emitting diodes, laser diodes, photodetectors, solar cells, liquid crystal, birefringent materials, properties and devices, modulators and optical display. Several complex optoelectronic systems will also be used.
Prerequisite: ECSE 2210 or ECSE 2050 or PHYS 2620 or equivalent
