Business Intelligence Graduate Certificate (Hartford)

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs

The Business Intelligence certificate prepares working professional engineers and scientists to use analytic tools in evaluating and revising business-related problems and decisions. The program uses applied projects to build the ability to frame analytical questions and problems, collect and prepare data, perform statistical analysis, evaluate results, and develop actionable results relevant to the question or problem.

Students in the program work on a series of applied projects that closely resemble the activities a professional in the field works on, with real-world business problems and questions, including: pricing decisions; customer and competitive analysis; financial forecasts; customer decision models; organizational performance dashboards; and model tuning to represent current-state and adjust models as underlying assumptions change.

The program is taught by Rensselaer’s outstanding and highly ranked faculty. The program is built using a blended delivery methodology, bringing the best aspects of classroom and online learning together to deliver a unique project-based program – completely digitally, meaning that working professionals anywhere can participate fully in what is a personal and challenging experience. Not only will students learn the latest aspects of the profession, they’ll gain experience through the projects.
