For the M.Eng. degree, students must complete at least 27 credits of course work and 3 credits for an independent study capstone project.
The program must include 18 credits from the five core graduate courses: Advanced Electronic Properties (3 credits), Advanced Mechanical Properties (4 credits), Advanced Thermodynamics (4 credits), Advanced Structure of Materials (4 credits), and Advanced Kinetics of Materials Reactions (3 credits). The program must also include at least 9 additional credits from three graduate level (6000-level) courses in the School of Engineering or the School of Science and 3 credits for an independent study capstone project.
The elective course selection must be approved by the student’s academic adviser and the graduate curriculum coordinator prior to enrollment in the courses.
Outcomes of the Graduate Curriculum
Students who successfully complete this program will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of fundamentals underlying the relationship between the structure, property and performance of materials.
