ECSE 6090 - Advanced Power Electronics Advanced power electronic circuits and systems, as well as their modeling and control. Topics include advanced dc-dc converters, modeling by averaging and sampled-data methods, discontinuous conduction modes, linear and nonlinear current control methods and design, spectral and dynamic characteristics of pulse-width modulation, ac-dc converters with active power factor correction, resonant and soft-switching converters, and EMI filter design, as well as autonomous and distributed power systems. Course assignments include laboratory projects involving simulation, hardware design, and measurement.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: ECSE 4080 or permission of instructor.
