CHEM 6160 - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy A lecture-laboratory course that begins by establishing a knowledge base in the fundamental physical principles of NMR and then provides an understanding of basic and some advanced NMR experiments. This understanding extends to the actual performance of many of these experiments in the laboratory portion of the course. The use of NMR as a powerful tool to solve chemical problems will be explored. Topics included will be: Relaxation, Coupling and NOE, Multinuclear NMR, Spectral Editing, Multidimensional NMR, Solid State NMR, and the special challenges of Macromolecular NMR. Students cannot get credit for both this course and CHEM 4160.
