COMM 1610 - Introduction to Communication and Information Technology Introduces the terms, theories, and issues associated with the use of the Internet in personal and social contexts. The lectures and labs focus on helping students understand how computer-mediated communication (CMC) is used in contemporary society, providing different ways to understand how CMC is used to build interpersonal relationships, develop group communication, and support public communication while exploring social issues facing those who communicate via the computer.
