NSST 6220 - Science of the Environment An introduction to a variety of ways to study the environment, especially through the cooperation of the humanities and the sciences, including both the social and the natural sciences. The course addresses the issue of sustainability by assessing the scale of human activities in relation to natural processes. Topics such as carrying capacity, social structure, biodiversity, energy, climate change, emergent diseases and social justice will be considered.
