COMM 1250 - Academic Writing and Presentations for English Language Learners This course bridges international students’ writing skills between high school level writing and college level and professional writing. Through genre-based, audience-centered approaches, the course cultivates communication skills of reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking on topics such as global Englishes, cultural diversity, and cross-cultural communication. Students learn and practice the skills of academic writing and professional presentations to aid in their success in an American university setting. This course is only intended for 1st year international students.
