CHME 4610 - Polymer Processing and Plastics Technology This course covers structure, processing, and property relationships for industrially important plastic materials. Fundamentals of fluid flow, rheology, heat transfer, and transport phenomena are applied to analyze polymer processing operations including extrusion, multi-phase mixing, calendering, blow molding, thermoforming, fiber spinning, compression molding, injection molding, and recycling.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: CHME 4010
When Offered: Spring in odd-numbered years, or summer term, upon availability of instructor.
