ECSE 4141 - Renewable Power Generation Generation of electric power from renewable sources and its integration into the power grid. Topics include fundamentals of photovoltaic and wind energy; power converters and their control for renewable energy conversion and grid integration; solar power plants, solar inverters, and their control; wind turbines based on synchronous generators, wind turbines based on doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG), wind power plants, and offshore wind; operation and control of power systems with renewables.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: ECSE 2110
When Offered: Spring term annually
Co-Listed: ECSE 6141 . Students cannot obtain credit for both ECSE 4141 and ECSE 6141.
