ARCH 6630 - Graduate Architecture Design 5 This is a graduate level comprehensive design studio focusing on the synthesis of user and regulatory requirements, site conditions, universal access and consideration of the measurable environmental impacts of students design decisions NAAB (SC.5 Design Synthesis) with respect to the design of civic building with cultural and social impact. Students will develop the ability to make design decisions within architectural projects while demonstrating integration of building envelope systems and assemblies, structural systems, environmental control systems, life safety systems, and the measurable outcomes of building performance. NAAB (SC.6 Design Integration).
Students must co-register for ARCH 5380 , a concurrent course that reviews building codes, regulatory processes, contract documents, construction cost control, and administration.
This course is offered in the fall semester only and is required of all graduate students in the M. Arch. program.
Any student receiving a second ‘C’ in any design studio must repeat the second design studio and receive a grade of ‘B’ or higher to proceed to the next design studio.
