MANE 6840 - An Introduction to Multiphase Flow and Heat Transfer I This course is intended to give students a state-of-the-art understanding about single and multicomponent boiling and condensation heat transfer phenomena. Applications include the analysis of nuclear reactors, oil wells, and chemical process equipment. Students satisfactorily completing this course are expected to thoroughly understand the current thermal-hydraulics literature on multiphase heat and mass transfer and be able to conduct independent research in this field.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: a working knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
When Offered: Spring term every two to three years.
Cross Listed: CHME 6840 An Introduction to Multiphase Flow and Heat Transfer I. Students cannot obtain credit for both this course and the cross-listed course.
