CIVL 1100 - Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering

Deals with the practice of civil and environmental engineering. Not a highly analytical course, as the course is primarily intended for first year students. Some topics include: history of civil engineering; present practice; typical employers; typical projects; design philosophy; professional topics including organizations, registrations, ethics. Discuss case histories, bring in outside speakers. Students attend CE Capstone presentations.
