ERTH 4340 - Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology Introduction to the observation and interpretation of igneous and metamorphic rocks in outcrop, hand sample, and thin sections. Processes of melting, solidification and migration of magmas; solid state recrystallization and pressure-temperature histories. Heat flow and regional crustal dynamics. Laboratory and field trips required.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: ERTH 2330 and ERTH 2140.
