COMM 6410 - Ethnography and Cultural Analysis This course focuses on theories, perspectives, and methods of ethnography, and on their applications to the various disciplines in which graduate students are working. Emphasis is given to foundational activities: defining a problem, research design, proposal writing, field methods, and protection of human subjects. Students will undertake original field research involving interviews, multi-sited fieldwork, participant-observation, situated ethnography, archival work, focus groups, and audio/videotaping.
