COMM 2410 - Perspectives on Photography This course helps students understand the meaning and emotional complexity of visual images in our culture. Students examine photographic imagery through three perspectives. The first—formal—addresses the design components of the image, such as vantage point and contrast. The second—psychodynamic—concerns the emotional dynamics of viewing. The third—social political— explores photographs as instruments for preserving or challenging cultural values. No technical knowledge of photography is needed.
