MTLE 4520 - Materials under Extreme Conditions This course will review basic thermodynamic and kinetic concepts, which underpin how material behaves under extreme thermal, mechanical, chemical, electrical, and magnetic conditions as well as high-energy irradiations. Engineering materials that can withstand harsh environments and new materials with unique crystal structures and microstructures will be surveyed.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: MTLE 4100 and MTLE 4150 or equivalent.
When Offered: Upon availability of instructor.
Cross Listed: MTLE 6520. Students cannot get credit for both 4520 and 6520.
