STSS 2400 - Medicine and Society The purpose is to explore the contributions of anthropology, sociology, and history to health and illness. By the end of the course, students will have an overall picture of health fields, problems faced by patients and caregivers, medicine and health in non-Western societies, and the social shaping of disease and therapeutic choices.
