ARCH 4760 - Workshop This course seeks to cultivate a more explicit understanding of –“what is material?”– through hands-on experiences with several standard building materials: concrete, steel, wood, etc. The basic characteristics of each material and a few basic techniques for working with each will be presented in discussion and demonstration. Students will work in groups with the given materials on several projects. The ambition of the course is for each student to attain an intuitive understanding of materials through direct experiences with them.
