BIOL 6540 - Responsible Conduct of Research


An exploration of the standards associated with professional scientific conduct in modern biological research and the development of frameworks for evaluation of associated contemporary ethical issues. Topics include, but are not restricted to, authorship, plagarism, animal welfare, informed consent for human experimentation, and intellectual property. This course is based upon guidelines from the NIH Office of Research Integrity, and satisfies NIH requirements for training in this area.
