BMED 6280 - Biomechanics of Soft Tissues Application of continuum mechanics in modeling the biomechanical behavior of nonmineralized tissues such as tendons, ligaments, skin, cartilage, blood vessels, and nervous tissue. Topics include structure of collagen, elastin, proteoglycans, and other tissue components, nonlinear elastic models, linear and quasilinear viscoelasticity, and introduction to mixture theory.
